A New Year, A New Attempt at Blogging

I’ve always had grandiose dreams of a blog, full of wit and insight. And I fail, everytime…miserably.

So thanks to , I’m getting a little dose of motivation or a little ass kicking, depending on how you want to term it.

The Christmas season is over but work didn’t slow down as I expected. I’m currently preparing for a show at Fabricate, a handmade store in Cincinnati. If you live in the area, definitely check out the store in Northside as it’s packed (literally) with tons of stuff. This will be my first exhibition and will officially open on Northside Second Saturday in February. More information to come!

Now on to general updates. Last year was a bit of a blur. In terms of life accomplishments, here’s the best of 2011.

-Participated in my favorite craft shows, Crafty Supermarket in Cincy and Bloomington Handmade
-Expanded my shows with Craftin’ Outlaws in Columbus, The City Flea in Cincy and smaller events in Indianapolis with Handmade Promenade and Indieana Handicraft Exchange
-Got into my biggest show by far, Renegade, in Chicago and had a blast during the weekend.
-Started selling by consignment at Fabricate and at the Handmade Promenade Holiday Pop-Up shop.
-Built this website. It needs some (a lot) of work.
-Created a line of 15 cross-stitch kits as well as PDF patterns.
-Started crafting full-time
-Attended a Crafty conference in Columbus
-Learned the basics of photoshop to redesign my business cards, logo, and kits.
-Started keeping real track of all my expenses and sales.

In life news:
-I graduated with my Masters Degree and can now go in search of a librarian job.
-I got engaged to an awesome guy.
-And we expanded our family by getting a new cat!

Some things I’m counting on in the new year:
-Getting married! (Oct. 13, 2012)
-Getting a job and relocating, most likely to Cincinnati
-Learn to use my brand new sewing machine
-Having my first art show
-Expanding to new handmade consignment stores
